Congress of Minimally Invasive Surgery

Congress of Minimally Invasive Surgery

Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin
27-29 September 2018

About

Constant development of technology and imaging techniques, shift in standards of surgical procedures, increased use of ERAS protocols, robotization, attempts to minimize perioperative trauma, mandatory application of EBM principles, increasing quality of treatment and patient safety - are all main issues affecting the development of modern surgery at the end of the second decade of the XXI century.

The First Congress of Minimally Invasive Surgery, held in Lublin on September 27-29, 2018, was an opportunity to review and constructively exchange views between Polish surgeons and outstanding experts in minimally invasive surgery in the world.

It was the first event of this type in Central and Eastern Europe. Over 30 known and respected surgeons (as a speakers) participated in the event, which proves its rank and high substantive and scientific level. Over 700 participants from Poland and neighboring countries have registered for the conference.

During the Congress, subjects of great importance from the doctor's perspective were discussed, but also these that affect the quality of treatment of patients in Poland, such as: techniques and methods of endoscopic therapy in esophageal diseases, minimally invasive surgery in organ tumors, surgeries utilizing minimally invasive techniques, pathological obesity surgery.

During the event, workshops were held, including those on minimally invasive procedures in the treatment of burns, and how to publish results in a scientific journal, plus laparoscopic workshops on simulators.

We would like to thank the lecturers, participants and partners for active participation in the event.

A full photo report from the event can be found at the following address: kongreschmi.eu - "2018 PHOTO REPORT" tab.
